Demola Program

 

Yesterday had the honor of being involved in the Act of closing of the program Demola in which us ventured to participate makes already 6 months. The results have been satisfactory and the road tour has State charged of learning and illusion.

The President of the Canarian Government, Fernando Clavijo, has presided over this Monday the closure of the first season of Demola Canary, a project pioneer at the State level that encourages collaborative innovation, and which connects the University with the world of work to undertake challenges successfully.

Also present at the ceremony, were the Vice Chancellor of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Rafael Robaina; responsible of the project, and the Counselor of economy, industry, trade and knowledge, Pedro Ortega, as well as the director of the Agency Canaria’s research, innovation and society of the information, Manuel Miranda.

Fernando Clavijo argued that “the philosophy of Demola is take knowledge from the University to companies and, above all, give the formation the value as an element of change and generator of wealth that deserves”. Thus, this Canary project promotes the open innovation model that offers opportunities for young talents with a collaborative model, pioneer in Spain and who leads the Government of the Canary Islands.

In this sense, the Executive Chairman reiterated that this program not only “encourages collaborative innovation but that it is a huge step forward in overcoming a challenge that we set ourselves as a Government and that we have as a society;” connect the University, our main centre of knowledge, with the productive sectors”of the archipelago.

Demola Canary not would be possible without them knowledge and ideas innovative and fresh in the life real that offer them young talents Canaries and them proposed of challenges interesting and applicable that proposed them companies and SMEs in the Islands. We must make special emphasis on finding new formulas to boost and diversify the economic sector of the Islands. Demola Canary is an initiative in keeping with the road map of the Canary Islands Government and its commitment to an economic model based on knowledge.

After the presentation of Demola Canary, the Director of the Agency Canaria for research, innovation and information society, Manuel Miranda; the four groups of University students presented the DEMOS with the solutions to the challenges posed by institutions and companies and, finally, we proceeded to the presentation of diplomas.

Organizations we routinely sumimos on the day of the operation. When we stopped to participate in initiatives such as these, we discover and appreciate the human talent that provide us universities and new points of view that can provide us with more youth, receiving an injection of enthusiasm and new ideas that apply to the company.
